It’s Fall!

September 14, 2010

Wow, where has the time gone?  How could it possibly be fall already?  Well, ready or not, it is here, and with it comes the beginning of Flu season.  This year, be as prepared as you can.  Please join us for our Third Thursday lecture series this week, for a discussion on “Natural Treatment and Prevention of Influenza.”  Dr. Amy Hawkins will lead the group and offer valuable insight for you and your families.  There are so many options other than the “Flu Shot” that have been proven through valid scientific studies to be equally effective in prevention.

This time of year can also be difficult for some with the advent of darker and shorter days.  If you have challenges with Seasonal Affective Disorder, please talk with your doctor about what options there may be for you for treatment.  Since our NW weather doesn’t let up for a number of months, it’s always better to prepare for this time than wait until you are already in a slump.  Start with getting your Vitamin D levels checked and taking a daily supplement.  I promise, you will feel better with just that extra liquid sunshine.

Also, remember that Fall brings some really wonderful things!  Soothing soups, warm drinks, cozy fires and warm embraces with those you love.  And don’t forget, there is always a new pair of beautiful boots out there with your name on them.  Enjoy!
